[Wylan raises his eyebrows but does eventually close and cover them.]

[He'll step inside and Wyoan may hear more movement than just Wash after he closes the door. He moves to stand in front of Wylan and with the gesture, the dog sits.]

[He takes off the leash and steps back.]

Okay. Now, meet your new friend.

[There's the pitter patter of something and then the mention of a--]

[Wylan opens his eyes and looks at the dog with confusion. It looks a bit intimidating at first.]

Yep.

His name has been Argon, but it shouldn't be difficult to train him to a new name. He's a pretty quick learner.

Go on, pet him.

[Wylan isn't too familiar with dogs, so he carefully reaches out to pat Argon on the top of his head. The dog continues to sit without the command to move, so Wylan looks up to Wash.]

I'm not sure Argon likes me.

Oh. [Wylan sits back, looking up at Wash.] I think so.

[Have Argon in Full Dog Mode, Wylan.]

[Argon leaps right up onto Wylan, licking his face and earning some giggles(?) from Wylan. He kicks and pats Argon as Argon licks his already rumpled hair.]

See? He likes you plenty. [He sits down.] I've been training him for the last few months with some professionals. He knows how to follow commands, keep calm in chaotic situations, and how to protect.

[Argon continues to lick Wylan's face, much to the delight of Wylan. He nudges Argon just enough to ask.] Protect? Like when you're away?

Yes.

You shouldn't bring him on dangerous quests, but he can handle normal people. He's also got a good danger sense. If he doesn't want to walk somewhere, you shouldn't go that way.

[Wylan sits up even as Argon continues to lick his face.]

Do you think he would help with the nightmares?

More than likely. Pets have shown to help soothe anxiety and if it's too bad, he can wake you up.

[Wylan smiles at Argon and ruffles his fur, wrapping his arms around him. His new bedtime buddy will hopefully help with the recurring nightmares as well as protect him from danger. Wylan turns to Wash with a smile before disentangling himself from Argon. He scurries across the room to wrap his arms around Wash in a hug.]

Well, you've seen how the cats help me. But since you're more of a dog person, well...

And I've already introduced him to all the other pets, so no trouble there.

[Wylan is all smiles and so happy, it makes him nervous. There must be something coming to take this away from him. Still, for now, Wylan is pleased to rejoin Argon on the couch.]

Will you teach me his commands?

Of course. Come on, let's take him out in the yard. Its important to give him rewards after he does a good job.

Do we bring treats? Or is petting a reward?

[Excuse him as he curls his arms around Argon. He already loves him.]

Treats and play time. Reward is good for in the moment stuff, but treats and play really helps him keep to the training.

It would take a while for it to break out of it, but dogs can always be retrained, so that's why its good to give him positive reinforcement for his job.
